Elevating Web Experiences: The User-Centric Approach at Convertium
In today's digital landscape, creating compelling and seamless web experiences is more crucial than ever. At Convertium, we believe in a user-centric approach to building web experiences that not only meets but exceeds user expectations.
This commitment is central to everything we do, guiding our processes, strategies, and innovations.
Why User-Centric Design Matters

User-centric design places the end-user at the forefront of our thinking and planning. By understanding and addressing the needs, preferences, and behaviours of these users, we can create digital experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and effective.
This approach ensures that our clients' websites are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly.
Our Comprehensive Digital User Experience Practice
At Convertium, our digital user experience (UX) practice is both deep and broad. It encompasses a variety of methodologies and tools that enable us to thoroughly understand and enhance the user journey. Here are some key components of our UX practice:
1. Qualitative and Quantitative Research
We combine qualitative research, such as interviews and focus groups, with quantitative methods like surveys and analytics.
This dual approach allows us to gather comprehensive data on user behaviours, preferences, and motivations, which inform our design decisions.
2. Personae
Personae are detailed representations of key user groups. They allow us to tailor our designs to meet these audiences’ specific needs. They help us see things through their eyes, and allow us to address problems or concerns.
Once they are ordered and prioritised, they guide us on which content, features, and tools to build first and which to avoid.
3. Card Sorting
Card sorting helps us understand how users categorise and organise information. It’s particularly useful for designing intuitive navigation structures that align with users' mental models, making it easier for them to find what they're looking for.
4. User Journey and Experience Mapping
User journey and experience mapping involve visualising the entire user experience from start to finish.
These help us identify opportunities to improve each touchpoint, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for the user.
They can only be done once clear personae have been established and thought through.
5. Wireframing
Wireframing involves creating simple, low- to mid-fidelity sketches of a proposed website layout and structure.
Wireframes help us visualise the user interface and plan the content and functionality of each page, ensuring a clear and logical flow.
As they are only rough layouts, there is limited rework needed if anything in them must be changed.
6. Prototyping
Prototyping enables us to create interactive models of our designs. These allow us to test and refine concepts before they are fully developed, ensuring that the final product is as effective and user-friendly as possible.
Initial prototypes may be hand sketched, as seen in the image above, and more developed prototypes can be clickable, on a mobile or another screen.
We usually don’t include creative designs in them as they tend to distract users from the core tasks.
7. Usability Testing
Usability testing is essential to identifying potential pain points and areas for improvement within a website.
By observing real users as they interact with the site, we gain valuable insights into how to enhance its usability and overall user satisfaction. Such testing is usually done on a clickable prototype.
